Born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, co-founders John and Richey started off as simply casual, car-loving high school acquaintances.

Then, God stepped in.

When Richey was struggling to find a new career that he loved, his father happened to mention it to his trusted mechanic, John. John immediately knew who he should hire.

From there, their friendship grew. They quickly realized they shared a deep faith AND the struggle to start a conversation with others about that faith.

They asked themselves, "What if you could create a faith-focused clothing brand that was quietly compelling? One that could help others start a conversation, by simply wearing it in everyday life?"

Richey got to work designing the original logo and in early 2022, 3 Bent Nails was born.
